Heart To Home - Residential Assisted Living & Memory Care
Andrea & Gina, friends for over 25 years, began their nursing career together. They worked together full-time running a graphic arts equipment company in their 20’s, when they decided that helping others was their passion. That is when they decided to take night classes together at a local, community college. Both single moms, it was rough, but they did it. They were accepted into the nursing program with 4.0 GPA’s. Together they took every class, and both graduated in 2006 with Magna Cum Laude honors. Andrea & Gina worked at Oakwood on the IMC/telemetry floor for over a year until they found their true passion. Community Care was their calling. They loved making a difference for clients in their homes, making & keeping them safe living at home. “Clients want to stay home and they value their independence” says Gina. Andrea & Gina have worked for Henry Ford Home Health Care since 2007, where they do just that...keep clients safe at home. “I love visiting my clients and building trusting relationships” says Andrea.
Andrea & Gina quickly enrolled in a program that was offered through their workplace, allowing them to complete their BSN at University of Detroit Mercy, with a work contract. They both earned their Bachelor’s of Nursing in 2010. Later, they decided that they wanted more...time to earn their Master’s. Andrea & Gina completed their Master’s Degree in Nursing Education in March 2018, both graduating with a 4.0. They had discussed opening a facility where they would want their own grandmas to reside, but it was only discussion at that point. The duo was on their way home from graduation when they decided that they would, in fact, open their adult foster care home. And...this is how the story begins...
